What Personal Data We Collect and Why

Comments

When visitors leave comments on our site, we collect the information provided in the comment form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (a hash) may be shared with the Gravatar service to check if you are using it. The Gravatar service’s privacy policy is available at Automattic Privacy. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture (if linked) will be visible alongside your comment.

Media

If you upload images to our site, please ensure they do not contain embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the website can potentially download and extract location data from uploaded images.

Contact Forms

If you fill out a contact form or subscribe to our newsletter, the information you provide (e.g., name, email) will be stored to fulfill your request and to keep you updated on relevant events and opportunities.

Workshops

When registering for workshops or trainings, we may collect contact information and additional details to determine eligibility and track attendance. This ensures we can manage our programs effectively and maintain records for future opportunities.

Cookies

If you create an account on our site (e.g., for workshop registration), you may opt-in to save your name, email, and website in cookies for your convenience. These cookies last for one year.

  • Temporary Cookies: Set when visiting the login page to check browser compatibility. These cookies do not store personal data and are deleted when you close your browser.
  • Login Cookies: These persist for two days unless “Remember Me” is selected, in which case they last for two weeks. Logging out removes these cookies.
  • Editor Cookies: If you edit or publish content, a cookie storing the post ID will be saved for one day.

Embedded Content from Other Websites

Our website may include embedded content such as videos or articles from third-party websites. Interacting with embedded content is equivalent to visiting the external website, which may collect data, use cookies, or implement additional tracking mechanisms.

Analytics

We use analytics tools to understand website traffic and improve user experience. However, your data is not shared with third-party organizations unless required by law.

How Long We Retain Your Data

We retain user-submitted content and metadata indefinitely to streamline follow-up interactions, such as comment approvals or workshop registration management.

Registered users can view, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except usernames). Website administrators also have access to user profiles for maintenance and support.

Your Rights Over Your Data

If you have an account, registered for a workshop, or left comments on our site, you can request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you. You can also request that we delete your personal data, except for information we are required to retain for legal or security purposes.

Where We Send Your Data

New user registrations and comments may be processed through an automated spam detection service to ensure the integrity of our platform.
