About Centers For Opportunity

Mission

CFO is committed to supporting the recovery of people affected by mental health, homelessness, and substance use challenges. We offer those in recovery the guidance to move towards achieving their chosen personal and employment goals. We offer mentoring from those who have travelled similar paths to show that for everyone: even the smallest step can lead to success and that success waits behind every door.

Vision

CFO’s vision is to have those who have achieved success reach out to those who seek assistance in achieving their own chosen goals.

We believe that through mentoring and skill building, success is possible for everyone.

As an organization, CFO knows that when those we help tell us goodbye, it is not a sad occasion, but proof that we served them well.

Values

Empathy. Integrity. Respect.

Listening deeply, honoring every story, and creating space where every person feels seen, valued, and supported.

Our Approach

Each person defines their own path — and we walk alongside them. By helping individuals identify strengths, explore goals, and take meaningful steps toward the life they want, we foster belonging and growth for all.

Why It Matters

Support creates confidence. Confidence creates change. When people feel supported, they move forward — and their progress strengthens the entire community. At Centers for Opportunity, opportunity grows when it’s shared.

Success is Possible for Everyone

We have our staff share their own stories and journeys to model that success is always possible.

Everyone can make positive, forward movement towards personal and professional achievement. Hope is for everyone: despite a negative past, difficulties in the present, a bright future is possible.

No one is “too far gone” to explore and find a purpose.

CFO knows labels and stigma are based on prejudices and false narratives; we believe everyone can reach their chosen dreams and more importantly, everyone deserves the help to do so.
