Tonya Henderson
Executive Director, Centers for Opportunity (CFO)
Tonya Henderson serves as the Executive Director of Centers for Opportunity (CFO), formerly Recovery Program Solutions of Virginia (RPSV). She entered the Peer Recovery field in April 2019, bringing with her valuable experience as a Shelter Specialist at New Hope Housing.
Tonya’s journey at CFO has been one of growth and dedication. She began as a Program Coordinator and Center Supervisor, quickly advancing to Lead Program Coordinator, then Director of Operations, and ultimately Executive Director. Each step has deepened her understanding of the nonprofit world and strengthened her commitment to supporting individuals on their path to recovery.
At CFO’s Wellness Centers, Tonya leads with compassion and vision, helping participants facing mental health challenges, substance use, and homelessness regain stability, dignity, and independence. She believes recovery is best nurtured by “walking alongside” peers, sharing lived experiences, offering encouragement, and fostering hope.
Tonya’s foundation in Peer Recovery Specialist training continues to guide her leadership. She is passionate about creating spaces where people feel seen, supported, and empowered to reclaim their lives.
Sara Cotton – Director of Employment Services
Sara oversees CFO’s employment programs across Northern Virginia, connecting participants with meaningful job opportunities and workforce development. Her team’s person-centered approach helps individuals build confidence and take the next step toward stability.
